The Victims of Crime Act provides financial assistance to state and crime victim compensation programs and crime victim assistance programs.
Priority is given to eligible crime victim assistance programs whose principal mission is to offer comprehensive specialized services to meet the special needs of one or more of the priority categories of victims as follows:

Programs must utilize a minimum of one volunteer per grant period to assist in providing services to victims. This requirement may be waived.
Unallowable costs include:
Federal Agencies and In-Patient Treatment Facilities are not eligible to apply.
Eligible applicants include public or nonprofit organizations (or a combination of both) that provide services to crime victims. This includes but is not limited to:

Award amounts vary. A cost match of 20% is required for all existing programs.
