    Summary

    The City of Sioux Falls has created a Workforce Development Pilot Program to support activities, ideas, and initiatives related to the workforce challenges of our businesses, industries, and residents. The intent of the program is to provide funding to local entities which are well-positioned to use those funds to address workforce challenges in Sioux Falls.

    As a pilot program initiated in 2015, a key objective is to explore new programs and activities to drive workforce growth and development. As such, the City intends to keep an open and flexible program to ensure many activities and concepts can be considered and implemented. Below are the primary areas of focus for awarding funding:

    • Strategic Planning and Implementation;
    • Attracting and Recruiting New Employees;
    • Training and Re-Employment; and
    • Education-Related Workforce Development

  • Eligibility Details

    Eligible applicants are any business, organization, or entity with operations in Sioux Falls.

    Preference will be given to applicants that can initiate a program or activity by April 1, 2015 and plan to show results as early as September 1, 2015.

    Deadline Details

    Letters of application and proposals are accepted via email on an rolling basis.

    Award Details

    Approximately $500,000 is anticipated to be available in total funding for FY15. Awards will range from $2,000 to $100,000. Cost sharing/matching is not required. However, the ability to match funds may be a factor in award determination. All funds are anticipated to be used exclusively for the 2015 calendar year.
