Laura Bush Foundation
Summary

The Laura Bush Foundation for America's Libraries provides funds to our nation's neediest schools so that they can extend, update, and diversify the book and print collections in their libraries with the goal of encouraging students to develop a love of reading and learning.
History of Funding

Since its inception in 2002, the Laura Bush Foundation has awarded $23 million to over 4,000 schools across the country. Previous grant recipients can be viewed on the Foundation's website: https://www.bushcenter.org/newsroom/laura-bush-foundation-awards-1-5-million-in-library-grants-to-schools-across-the-country
In the 2024-2025 grant cycle, the Laura Bush Foundation awarded over $1 million in grants to 220 school libraries across 38 states. Grant-awarded librarians have utilized the funds to enhance their library collections by incorporating additional in-demand books, including e-books and Spanish-language publications.
