  • Eligibility Details

Eligible applicants are Section 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organizations and governmental units in Texas. The Foundation primarily makes grants in Houston and the surrounding areas. As a family-directed foundation, we selectively make grants across Texas and in other parts of the country. They rarely approve unsolicited applications from beyond the greater Houston area.

    Deadline Details

The first step to apply to the Foundation is to submit a pre-application form. These are reviewed in four annual cycles:

    • Cycle 1: May 1, 2024 - May 31, 2024
    • Cycle 2: July 1, 2024 - July 31, 2024
    • Cycle 3: October 1, 2024 - October 31, 2024
    • Cycle 4: January 1, 2025 - January 31, 2025

New applicants may apply in any of these cycles, while current grantees typically should select the cycle closest to their application last year. If a pre-application is submitted outside of these cycles, it will be reviewed but remain pending until the next cycle opens.

After review, Foundation staff will notify the applicant via email if they have been invited to submit a full proposal or if their application has been denied.

The Foundation advises prospective applicants that from start to finish, their application process may take up to six months.

    Award Details
