    Summary

The Wyoming Community Foundation (WYCF) aims to improve the quality of life for Wyoming residents. WYCF offers the following grants:

    • WYCF General Grants - WYCF is focused on funding programs that meet the needs of Wyoming communities. They accept applications in the areas of Arts and Culture, Health and Human Services, Education, Environment and Conservation, Civic and Community Building. WYCF gives low priority to requests for block grants, capital campaigns, annual campaigns, debt retirement, and governmental programs. Requests for funds to support direct lobbying activities are ineligible for Community Foundation grants.
      • WYCF gives priority to nonprofit organizations who:
        • Address an identified community need
        • Partner with other nonprofits or programs to enhance services without duplication
        • Leverage dollars received from WYCF to obtain additional or future funding
    • Other Competitive Grants – for grants with different guidelines and/or application dates than the general, competitive application
      • Hazel Patterson Memorial Endowment Fund Grant - to improve the quality of life for residents of Johnson County.
      • McMurry Individual Continuing Staff Education Grants - Grant must go to support one of the following:
        • Course work for certification or completion of degree in a library related subject area
        • Attendance at conferences, workshops, seminars in library related subject area
        • General courses that may not be directly library related but will allow a library employee to do his/her job more effectively.
      • Lauren P. Miller - provides financial assistance to individuals in a Registered Apprenticeship Program with the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.

NOTE: In general, there is no need to apply specifically to a fund. Submit your application and the WYCF program staff will direct your application to the appropriate source(s). This may mean that your application will be reviewed by more than one committee and/or donor which, in turn, offers your request a better chance of receiving funding.

    History of Funding

In 2022, WYCF granted over $8 million to nonprofits across the state.

    Additional Information

Additional information on Local Board Grants and Other Competitive Grants can be viewed on the Foundation's website.

If your organization is meeting a community need, you are welcome to apply. Block grants, capital campaigns, annual campaigns, debt retirement, and governmental programs are WYCF's lowest funding priorities. Requests for funds to support direct lobbying activities are ineligible for Community Foundation grants. The most competitive grant requests address important needs in the community and/or increase the capacity of your organization to carry out its mission. Multiple funding partners and collaborations with other key organizations strengthen requests. It also is important to submit a clear, well-written, complete proposal based on a strong idea. Organizational/general operating applications are welcome. As you complete your application, please be sure to share how the work your organization does helps address a community need.
